Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

SpotLocal.in (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors and scouts who use our website. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

Visitors: When you browse SpotLocal.in, our hosting provider and analytics tools (Google Analytics via MonsterInsights) may automatically collect basic technical information—your approximate location (country/city), browser type, device type, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This data is aggregated and is not tied to your identity.

Scouts: If you register as a contributor (scout), we collect your name, email address, profile photo, neighbourhood, and any biographical details you choose to share. This information appears publicly on your scout profile page, as attribution for the spots you recommend.

Contact messages: If you email us at hello@spotlocal.in or submit a contact form, we retain your message and email address only for the purpose of responding.

How we use information

  • To prevent spam and abuse

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell user data to third parties
  • We don’t run retargeting ads
  • We don’t share scout or visitor information with businesses featured on the site
  • We don’t use email addresses for marketing unless you explicitly opt in

Cookies

SpotLocal.in uses minimal cookies, primarily for WordPress authentication (for logged-in scouts) and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings without losing access to the site’s content.
